Attention Amateur (and Professional) Videographers!

Our arts program needs more videographers to record our amazing shows. We have two very talented volunteers who are trying to do all of our shows this year – THANK YOU! However, we need a list of volunteers.

Here is the job description:

1. Volunteer to film a show; it can be a show that your

   child in participating in or not.

2. Bring your video camera to the show along with a

   tripod. (We have extra tripods at MX in our sound

   room.)

3. Record the show!

4. Upload the show to our MX Vimeo site OR send the

   recording to Ms. Cannon for uploading.

5. Sign up to do it again!

You can edit the show after you get home if you would like, or one of the artists can do it after you send it to us.

This is a simple job but it is so important to our school and our arts program. Please contact Ms. Candy Cannon at candycecannon@berkeley.net for more information.

Atención Aficionados (y Profesionales) Videógrafos!

Nuestro programa de artes necesita más videógrafos para grabar nuestros increíbles programas. Tenemos dos voluntarios muy talentosos que están tratando de hacer todos nuestros programas este año - ¡GRACIAS! Sin embargo, necesitamos una lista de voluntarios.

Aquí está la descripción del trabajo:
1. Aceptar filmar un espectáculo; Puede ser un espectáculo en que tu hijo participe o no.
2. Trae tu cámara de video al show junto con un trípode. (Tenemos trípodes adicionales en nuestra sala de sonido en la escuela.)
3. ¡Registra el programa!
4. Carga la grabación en nuestro sitio MX Vimeo O envía la grabación a Ms. Cannon para cargarla.
5. ¡Regístrate para hacerlo de nuevo!

Puedes editar la grabación después de llegar a casa si lo deseas, o uno de los artistas puede hacerlo después de enviárnosla. As many of you may know, our art teacher, Ms. Bull, is on maternity leave. I am taking her place during her absence and wanted to introduce myself to you and let you know how honored and happy I am to be working with your 1st-, 2nd-, 4th-, and 5th-grade artists! My name is Louise Paige. I am an MX parent and have worked as a 3rd-4th-5th classroom teacher, and also as an art teacher in camps and in the after-school program at Sticky Art Lab. New student artwork will be going up soon in the school hallways, so be sure to stop and take a look!

Como muchos de ustedes saben, nuestra profesora de arte, la Sra. Bull, está ausente por maternidad. ¡Estoy tomando su lugar durante su ausencia y quería presentarme a ustedes y hacerles saber cuánto honrada y feliz estoy de trabajar con sus artistas de primero, segundo, cuarto y quinto grado! Me llamo Louise Paige. Soy un padre de MX y he trabajado como maestra en classes de 3er a 4to-5to grados, y también como maestra de arte en campamentos y en el programa después de la escuela en Sticky Art Lab. Save the Date for the Spring Fair

Please join us for the MX Spring Fair on Saturday, May 6, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.!

This is the last event of the 2016–2017 school year— raffle tickets will be drawn and prizes awarded, lunch will be served, and there will be games and prizes for everyone. Not to mention a dunk tank! So please bring your dancing shoes and your "Together We Can" spirit!

Lunch and games will be provided free. The 4th grade will be holding a bake sale, with the proceeds benefiting the 5th-grade field trip.

Separa la fecha para la Feria de Primavera

Por favor acompáñanos en la Feria de Primavera de MX, el Sábado 6 de Mayo, de 11:00 am a 2:00 pm!

Este será el último evento del año escolar 2016-2017, el sorteo de la rifa se llevará a cabo y los premios se entregarán también. Ademaás habrá comida y juegos y premios para todos. También tendremos un tanque de agua para juegos! Asi que por favor ponte tus zapatos para bailar y tu espíritu de “Juntos podemos”!

La comida y juegos serán gratis. Los alumnos de 4to grado estarán participando con una venta de reposteria, lo que se recaude en esta venta será utilizado en el paseo de 5to grado.

Raffle Ends Monday, May 1!

This is the LAST WEEKEND to sell your raffle tickets. Sell your raffle tickets. No regrets!

Remember... all students who sell $40 worth of tickets receive a Malcolm X highlighter, $100 or more will get you a Malcolm X frisbee, $200 or more will get you a Malcolm X measuring tape/level, and $300 or more will get you a Malcolm X carabiner. Be a Raffle Superseller!

PTA volunteers will collect all remaining money and tickets (sold and unsold) in the Teachers' Lounge on Monday, May 1, 7:50–8:10 a.m. Please make sure your children return their ticket stubs and money to be eligible for their Malcolm X prizes, top-selling class prizes, and top-selling individual prizes. Please arrive early for turn-in, as it will be a busy morning.

While selling tickets this weekend, be sure to share that proceeds from our raffle help support our wonderful arts and literacy programs here at Malcolm X. We are fortunate to live in a community that values these programs and that values public education.

La Rifa termina el Lunes 1ero de Mayo!

Este es el ULTIMO FIN DE SEMANA para vender sus boletos de la rifa. Vendan sus boletos de la rifa y no se arrepentirán!

Recuerden... todos los estudiantes que vendan $40 de boletos reciben un marcador de Malcolm X, quienes vendan $100 o más reciben un frisbee de Malcolm X, $200 o más equivalen a una cinta de medir de Malcolm X, y $300 o maás reciben un mosquetón de Malcolm X. Anímate a ser un Supervendedor de la Rifa!

Los voluntarios del PTA estarán recolectando todo el dinero y boletos (vendidos y no vendidos) en la Sala de Maestros el Lunes 1 de Mayo, de 7:50 a 8:10 am. Por favor asegúrate que tus hijos regresen sus boletos y dinero para ser elegibles para premios de Malcolm X, premios al saloón con mayor número de ventas, y los premios individuales para quienes vendan el mayor número de boletos. Por favor lleguen temprano a la escuela para entregar sus boletos, ya que será una mañana ocupada.

Mientras vendan boletos este fin de semana, asegúrate de compartir a los compradores que el dinero recaudado de la rifa suplementa nuestros maravillosos programas de arte y literatura aqui en Malcolm X.
