Conferences are coming up!
During the week of Parent teacher conferences, there are shortened days all week, and no classes on Friday, October 28th. October 24,25,26, 27: TK and K dismiss at 12:30, 1st–5th dismiss at 1:10. LEARNS and BEARS will continue to run after school during conference week.
School buses will continue to run at these earlier times. Please be ready to receive your kids at the stop. If there is no adult ready to receive a child, the child will be brought back to school to pick up at school.
October 28: No school
“Hotel Transylvania” in the Schoolyard
Our first movie night of the school year is coming up! Join us in the schoolyard for a potluck/picnic and “Hotel Transylvania” on Friday, October 21st at 6:00pm. Bring something to share for the potluck, or bring your own picnic dinner. Popcorn provided! Movie starts at 7:00pm. Wear a costume, if you’d like, and bring a low chair or blanket to sit on. Don’t forget to wear warm clothes or buy a sweatshirt from our MX pop-up shop!
Volunteer at Malcolm X
Part of what makes Malcolm X such a wonderful and vibrant school is the engagement of parent volunteers. Some volunteers serve on the PTA, coordinating community events and raising funds to help pay for our drama, art, music, dance, and PE teachers, literacy support, math coaches, and more. Other volunteers support MX teachers and staff by reading with students, assisting with classroom projects, and assembling supplies. And some volunteers help out with school-wide activities like Rolling Drop-off or at special events sponsored by the PTA. Are you interested in volunteering at school? Fantastic! Ya se acercan las fechas de las conferencias. Durante la semana de las conferencias con padres y guardianes, hay un horario reducido toda la semana y no hay clases el viernes, 28 de octubre. octubre 24,25,26, 27:
Clases de TK y kínder salen a las 12:30 p.m.
Clases de 1º a 5º salen a las 1:10 p.m.
Los programas de LEARNS y BEARS después de clases continuarán durante la semana de conferencias.
Los autobuses escolares partirán de la escuela con ese horario temprano. Favor de estar en la parada para recoger a su hijo/a. Si no hay adulto para recoger a un estudiante, regresan a la escuela en autobús y se tienen que recoger en la escuela.
octubre 28: No hay clases
“Hotel Transylvania” en el patio escolar
Nuestra primera noche de película ya se acerca. Vengan al patio escolar para ver “Hotel Transylvania” el viernes, 21 de octubre a las 6:00pm. Trae algo para compartir para una cena compartida o trae tu propia cena de picnic. Habra palomitas para todos. La película comenzará a las 7:00pm. Lleva tu disfraz si quieres y trae una silla bajita o una manta para sentarse. No se olviden de venir bien abrigados (o pueden comprar una sudadera de la escuela durante el evento.)
Hacerse voluntario en Malcolm X
El involucramiento de los padres voluntarios es parte importante de nuestra escuela. Algunos voluntarios sirven en el PTA para coordinar eventos comunitarios o para recaudar fondos para los programas de drama, arte, música, baile, educación física y apoyo académico. Otros padres voluntarios ayudan al personal docente en la clase preparando materiales, leyendo con estudiantes y con proyectos especiales. Otros voluntarios ayudan con eventos y con actividades como el desembarque rápido. ¿Tienes interés en hacerse voluntario de la escuela? ¡Fantástico!
