Malcolm X Elementary is a fantastic school with an incredible arts and enrichment program.  As well funded as the Berkeley schools are, there is not enough money to cover all the expenses of a comprehensive education like the one your child receives at Malcolm X.  Our families and community generously step in to fill the gap with our annual fundraisers.

The money raised helps pay for our award-winning performing arts program, including drama, dance, and music, as well as physical education and recess support, academic and literacy support, and vibrant community programs.

ANnual Fundraisers

MaLCOlm X Fund

Each year, the MX Fund kicks off our annual fundraising with a monthlong drive. Our goal for 2017 is to raise $55,000 by September 30 to support all of our existing programs plus our new PE and recess teacher.

Walk-a-thon

Every fall, the Malcolm X Walk-a-thon raises more than $20,000 and is a great way to connect with the MX community.  Families are welcome to participate.  Students can earn laps by walking, reading, dancing, hula-hooping, sprinting, and more!

Auction and Gala

The Silent Auction happens every year in February or March. Come and have fun with your community and get some great deals along the way! Do you have a business or a special talent?  Do you want to host a party or a gathering? Add it to the auction and raise money for MX.

Raffle and Spring Fair

The Malcolm X Raffle is a very low-cost, low-impact way to raise money for school (bring your kiddo to work to sell tickets, take them around the neighborhood, call family/friends--get creative).  Top sellers get prizes and the winning tickets are drawn at the Spring Fair.

EMPLOYER MATCHING GIFTS
